I have been going to charity shops for many years and I must say, I've never met such a rude, bad mannered and unfriendly shop assistant in my life! I greeted this lady with a smile and a polite ' hello' and she barely replied, with not even the slightest smile on her face. To think that this shop is situated in the beautiful Bourton-on- the Water, you would expect shop assistants to be more welcoming especially to tourists! I purchased a pair of sunglasses from the shop and realised they were damaged after leaving . I returned to the shop minutes later and politely made the lady aware of the problem. She refused to refund my money as she had put my receipt in the bin a few minutes earlier at my request, and said I could only have an exchange and she is not digging down the bin! I never asked her to do this, so why specify that, and why be so nasty? Horrible experience to say the least and I wont be going back there again
I hope for Sue Ryder company that they ensure their employees are customer friendly, considerate and kind. If this is the same woman that a person complained about in a previous review, then the charity should consider getting rid of her as she damages the reputation of the shop. Some advise to that lady 'A smile goes a long way and is also a charity itself.
