Recently spent the afternoon in the forest with my work colleagues and Mick & Wayne. It was an amazingly chilled and special afternoon. Not only because this was the first time our team had been able to come together since before covid, but because of the setting and relaxed vibe. I always knew I loved being in the woods, walking, listening, breathing in the smells etc, and being there for a whole afternoon really had a positive effect on me. I even got in touch with my inner cave-women, learning how to light a fire! Thanks Surviving Minds Foundation.

It’s probably fair to say that every one of us has, or at some point will go through things in their life that test the very core of their well being. For those who do face this, I can personally vouch that any time spent in this tranquil, calm and relaxing woodland setting with Mick and Wayne will change your whole perspective and give you the inner peace that you need. I cannot advocate and endorse this experience and these guys enough. They are both so knowledgeable and exceptionally professional at what they do, and they make you feel welcome immediately. There’s no set agenda, no strict regime and no pressure. There’s just nature, togetherness, (or solitude if that’s what you prefer), a return to the most basic but amazing survival techniques such as starting a fire and making your own tools, and an environment that makes you feel safe and at ease.
All of this amounts to the realisation that there are coping mechanisms and you can therefore cope. That is what this perfect retreat will do for you. I cannot say thank you enough, it was an absolute privilege to be involved.

This was an amazing experience. A total escape from the real world and stresses just melted away, just wish we could have been there longer. Wayne and Mick really know their stuff when it comes to the woods, camping and survival. Can't wait to go wild camping there with my kids.

What a way to spend an afternoon! Huge thanks to Mick and Wayne for providing us with such a safe and grounding experience peppered with good humor and a genuine passion for what they do. SMF make this all about you - it's your time and space to enjoy; and that sort of freedom definitely opens up a willingness to participate and soak up all that the forest has to offer. I can't wait to plan a family event at SMF because I know it will be so valuable for us all. I can't think of one person who wouldn't benefit from this most wonderful experience. Thank you!

What a wonderful day! I arranged this woodland well-being morning for our work team who are all remote workers and we don’t see much of each other. We were given the most amazing welcome by Wayne and Mick and enjoyed an inspirational day of camp fires, building fires, lying in hammocks, forest bathing, s’mores and toasted marshmallows and an educational walk around the woods. Wayne and Mick are wonderful hosts making us all welcome and comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our team bonding day. Thank you so much!

I recently went here as part of a team building afternoon. Mick and Wayne were thoroughly hospitable, knowledgeable and great fun! It was a chance to regroup post Covid pandemic to reflect and refocus for the time ahead. I was worried that some of my team who were not natural woodland enthusiasts would not find benefit in the session but far from it! The feedback I had confirmed that everyone had a good time and was able to find something that appealed to them. Personally I found the time positive and calming and I hope they do another stars walk as I would like to go back with my family. Thanks Surviving Minds!

Absolutely incredible place and organisation. Can not recommend Surviving Minds more! We learnt so much, we had time to relax and focus on our wellbeing, we laughed, we drank hot chocolates and ate a deliciously lunch served by the guys, honestly was a magical experience and we will 10000% be back!

I was privileged to attended a course with The south west ambulance service. What a fantastic experience. The day was relaxing, informative and holistic without being so consciously. we learnt some fabulous woodland skills and whittling techniques as well as water divining and woodland bathing. The guidance from both Wayne and Mick was spot on and both made sure we were looked after superbly. we sat around a burning camp fire ate food with the tools we had made and shared our experiences in a safe and unforced manor.. I can't recommend this experience highly enough. it should be part of the National curriculum.
