The Animal Protection Shop - Belvedere

I have given to this shop for years and until today found the volunteers to be charming. However, when I brought two bags of men's clothing today I was informed by someone that I had never seen before that she wasn't taking any more donations. I said that was a shame as there were designer clothes there. Her response was 'they all say that'.I told her she was extremely rude and she chased me out of the shop shouting and yelling. I said that I wouldn't provide any donations in the future and was told 'good,we don't want them'. If there is a management please read this.

It's such a shame I have to write this and rate this shop so low as the women who work here are absolutely lovely, polite, and welcoming, not to mention grateful...!! Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the tall man with dark hair and glasses... it seems the past few times I have come to donate items here, he has tried to find an issue with everything I have to donate. This time, he tried to tell me that the bouncer (which was in perfect condition, plays music and vibrates) "wouldn't sell" because it was missing the bar that goes across. I feel like his priorities are not in order as I am positive that there is someone out there who would be more than happy with a working bouncer for their baby. Every time I approach the shop and he is working a shift, his face and energy changes as if he's figuring out a way to have to turn me down and not accept what I have to donate. You are a charity shop!! Get your priorities in order. Absolutely disgraceful. I will NO LONGER be donating ANYTHING here!!

Lovely, worthwhile charity and I love the down to earth-ness of the woman who works in there. However, I bought a product recently from the store only to find out later that the actual item was different (an older model which I couldn’t use) to what was presented on the box. Being a charity, I didn’t have the heart to return the item but they really need to check out second hand products thoroughly before they put them on sale otherwise it can waste a customer’s time and money.

I’ve taken lots of donations here previously with the upmost of welcomes, but sadly on the weekend the lady was very angry and rude and literally threw everything I handed her on the floor with real aggression. I will be taking my donations elsewhere from now on.

I do love this shop but the one thing that really disappointments me is that they leave everything outside when it’s raining and then they’ll put it back the next day & still selling it! The manager is grumpy and really should have more respect in my opinion he is not in the right job if he’s going to act like the way he does.
