What a fantastic place. I parked up here for a couple of nights while visiting Polzeith, Tintagel, Port Isaac and Boscastle and it's perfectly located for all of those.

Such a friendly welcome, both from the staff and the locals. And the food was excellent too.

The local slate quarry is just a few mins walk away and worth a look too

Had a brilliant time here the owners and staff are some of the kindest and most welcoming people I've met.

The campsite was beautiful with views of the sea on well kept, flat land.

The onsite shop has all you could need, this is a FREE campsite so we left a donation towards them filling our water drum as I can imagine people ask all the time and this could soon add up costs towards their generosity.

We ate in the pub both nights we were going to have fish and chips from the chippy the second night but the kids easily twisted our minds due to the high quality and fresh meals cooked by the chef.

What an excellent FREE camp site and bar with excellent service and facilities.
We could not have been made to feel more welcome here. ?
Finding vegan or plant based meals is not always the easiest however they not only totally got it but had some excellent choices for us and all with a lovely smile.
The camping is offered as a part of the Park for Night or similar schemes where you can park for a low fee or free if you grab a drink or meal etc.
There’s a new toilet & shower block and the pitches are just what was needed so we were very appreciative and will definitely be back again when in the area.
Thank you.

We camped here last week in our caddy van, for FREE. Unfortunately we didn't realise that the pub was closed on a Monday, and this was the day we happened to arrive. But there was a sign up saying pub closed, campsite open. We bumped into the owner, and he was happy to show us where facilities were despite the pub being closed.
They have a shower and toilet available to use, which was clean and tidy. Also a small farm shop available with some essential items - honesty box left in the shop. Chickens on site. There is also a SPAR shop over the road.
This is a fantastic location, we drove to Tintagel tuesday morning and was only a 10minuet drive! You can even see the sea from the campsite. Quiet site, we slept really well.
We would love to come back so that we can check the pub out. Will avoid coming on a Monday next time.

Small village pub with good food. We went out of season, so it was a bit daunting walking into a pub with only a handful of locals, but they were very friendly and got the fire on for us!

OMG! Had the Bolognese sauce with Spaghetti last night. Fresh mozzarella & basil topped off with a banana split. Hopefully, it will be the special, again, tomorrow night!! Lunchtime today I had the chicken & ham mayo on a fresh brioche bun along with a salad. The flavors BURST on your tongue. Highly recommend The Bettle & Chisel!!
