What a beautiful place to have a curated guided tour! Next to of the biggest plague medieval pits in London, it was necessary to bring French Catholic seclusion monks to do the praying for those anonymous souls that were still buried there! The Carthusian monks were selected & built their life there up until the reformation. A long succession of owners followed but the essence of the place remains, as it still host men & woman over 60 that live on their own & have no family. Beautiful architecture, nice surprises ( an unburied skeleton from the pit is exhibited; some of the monk’s cells still visible & a wonderful ballroom where the late Queen Elizabeth supposedly visited and stayed for a few days before her coronation)

The best kept secret for a truly special stay in Torquay! We had a king bed suite with ensuite & fridge on the ground floor… a massive & delicious English breakfast with parking & great wifi was included in our stay. Lots of great tips on local activities from our hosts. A lovely cool pool , gardens, balcony & guest lounge for all guests to use. A handy tip is to keep your toast / croissant back to enjoy the sensational range of home made jam lovingly made onsite ! Thanks Lisa & Christoph for our memorable stay… we will be back!

🇬🇧The Chatterhouse is a hidden gem in Central London, offering a charming escape to another era. Built long ago, it boasts a rich history that visitors can explore through its museum and small church. However, access to other parts of the building requires an admission fee. The gardens are truly outstanding, and the entire area exudes a peaceful atmosphere that makes you forget you're in one of the world's busiest cities.
