Brilliant doctors and staff. I have been registered with the surgery for over 18 years, with all the challenges faced from NHS deficit to covid, Chesser surgery has performed brilliantly. When ever I had put in a feedback it has been heard, reviewed and if feasible implemented.
I had some serious referrals for my younger one and the Drs and their staff manager Georgina did all they could to ensure our family was supported.
Yes there are times when we feel frustrated and find new ways of working cumbersome, but with growing cost, funding cuts, redtape and long NHS ques, this surgery does the very best they can for their patients.
They have brilliant Drs, to name a few and I would dread to see him retire - Dr Cockbain - a doctor who listens to his patients, understand their needs and tries his very best. Same for Dr Charmichael and Dr Ditri.
Nurses- Jackie, is brilliant.

Receptionist on the surgery are rude, unprofessional they doesn't know how to talk to the patient or patients relatives .They seems themselves as the top authorities.If we ask them something which they have done wrong they will try to blame us. My 7 yr little one is on anti seizure medicines, all the times eventhough I put the prescription via anima on time they have one or the other excuse and he is always delayed to get the medicine. I have to call the pharmacist, surgery and talk to the whole members over there. Since they not giving the prescription to the pharmacist they also cant even do anything. Today I called regarding the prescription and the lady on the phone was yelling at me by telling that I have requested prescription early. Though it's early or not they doing the same!!!! The situation might be different if she handled or explained the situation to me in a proper way... She was talking over me and raising the sound and she doesn't want to hear what I want to tell her... The surgery might be good, the name ruins because of receptionist sadly....

They do not call you back on anything . I was supposed to receive my results which they did a month ago and they said they didn’t have it. It’s a ridiculous service I would recommended not to have this surgery as your family surgery

The new online booking system seems overly complicated. My husband tried to book an appointment a few months ago it was really complicated and eventually managed to log in and complete all the questions. He did not hear back for most of the day then called back and was told he had an appointment for the next day as none left. I tried to make an appointment for my son, after 3 phone calls and 45 minutes I eventually got the assessment form completed then got told (2 hours later) of an appointment at the end of the day at another surgery. I feel like when you are worried about your child it is an unnecessary addional worry. It also took up more of the receptionist time as I called 3 times as I never received the link and i could not easily do it online. The receptionist was also very dismissive just saying it is not complicated and lots of people use it easily. We very rarely come to the Dr my son prior to that has not been for 4 years or more. I wonder what elderly people with no access to computers manage as the receptionist said there was no alternative to using the online booking system. I understand that all the staff are extremely busy and we stayed with this surgery even though a number of years ago they did not properly diagnose my daughters pneumonia had turned to sepsis. They just issued another load of antibiotics even though she had fast heart rate, very high temperature and mottled skin. I then chose to take her to A & E that saved her life she was rushed straight through to resets. She was in hospital for 10 days. Many would ask why we did not move but I realise Dr's do make mistakes as do receptionists. I work in a similar industry but unless you talk to people face to face you cannot understand their requirements take time with people and you save time in the long run 🙂

Since they introduced this new Anima booking system , this surgery has completely been a waste of time trying to get to speak to anyone or get to the bottom of things.
I tried to get a Doctors call sometime today only to wait all day, but nothing except a message on the Anima system telling me a referral to a local pharmacy has been sent and to go there instead . When I arrived at the pharmacy and explained why I've been referred to them they said it's beyond any help they can give and told me to ring the surgery again , which I did and spent 30 minutes trying to get to speak to someone but to no avail . I have a General Anesthetic Operation in 3 days time and required help from my GP and reassurance that I was OK to proceed with it in my condition , If I wasn't the operation schedule could be given to another patient on the waiting list but time is short and this Surgery does not perform as it used to . In the past this would have been sorted straight away and dealt with .
I will now look for another surgery for my medical care as I no longer have faith in this one .

It's a real shame this surgery has got worse over the years, I have been a patient here for 38 years. The nurses are lovely. Dr Jahic and Dr Cockbaine are good. The receptionists are rude, abrupt and speak over you when you are talking, after telling me to call back another day and saying "cheers" to end the conversation, I literally heard her slam the phone down ! Disgusting

Today at around 0830am, l arrived with my 5 year old daughter who has been coughing amd sneezing for the past week. She currently had been taking cough medication with no change. She coughs and sneezes a lot at night and lhardly sleep. Yesterday 8 October, she coughed for a long time sneezing as well to the point where she coughed up sputum with traces of blood and yellow mucus and fever at 38.6. I made a decision to watch over her overnight and rush to the GP early morning. Kids being kids, in the morning she was slightly coughing but overall you would think she was OKAY. We got to Chesser surgery and l went straight to reception and l apologised for just coming through without an appointment, but l told the young lady at the reception that l nolonger knew what to do as my daughter was not well. I explained all the symptoms and the sputum etc. She informed me that there were no appointments, fair and fine, but with the situation, l begged her for my daughter to be seen as l was with her and she blantly told me that the best she could do was 7pm at a different surgery or 415 earliest. I was very mortified ,as here l am with a sick child and lm told to hold on to her. Never the less we left and l took her to St helier where she was prioritized and within 45mins we had been attended and advised on what to do and a prescription given. I do understand that there is an emergency section if a situation is dire, but the indifference that the receptionist showed had to be called out. I am open to be corrected, but l feel she could have handled the situation better.
