Had the steak pudding. The suet didn’t seem fully cooked. It wasn’t very piping hot but the mash & gravy were luck warm. Mash also had lumps in it.

Husband had the steak. It wasn’t a great cut. He likes it blue.

Although pub looking great but service was disappointing and food awful.
A long wait for starter,
Soup was cold,
Burger was dry/not fresh, Same with fries.
Yet extra items on the bill which never have ordered!

Maybe just for drink, definitely not for food!

We popped in on the off chance. Staff were very polite and quickly showed us to a table. We both ordered the smoked salmon sandwich which came with either a big bowl of soup or chips at a reasonable price. The only thing I didn't like was that the sandwich was in beautiful crusty bread, but was slightly warm as it had been toasted. It was still pale. Please either offer it properly toasted or as it was such nice bread keep it as it is. Sorry, that was my only reason to give you a 4. The service was good, the staff lovely, and I certainly would like to go again.

The food at this pub was a huge disappointment.

40 minute wait for starters. The mains were even more of a let down (the Moules Marinière arrived cold). One of the side salads we ordered did not turn up after everyone had been served. A few minutes later, this was delivered, shortly followed by two other staff members at different times stopping by our table to once again bring over a salad - a lot of miscommunication between staff. We noticed there was an extra salad charged to the bill when we only ordered 2.

Unfortunately this place is not worth visiting for a meal.

Drinks were nice and the pub itself looks pretty.

Lovely Saturday lunch with the family at the Crooked Billet. Staff very accommodating as we had our 2 year old granddaughter with us, and they adapted her lunch. Some foods not available as early in the new year but that didn’t make the meal any less delicious. Lovely atmosphere in the pub too. Thank you

Came with two friends last night- giving two stars as the food was nice, as expected regular pub fare. Unfortunately the service was awful. It took an hour from sitting for the bread and olives we'd ordered to appear and a further 20 minutes for mains. We then requested to see desserts and were completely forgotten about with noone to be seen for an hour. A waitress appeared and we quickly took our opportunity to pay and leave.
As a business this was a missed opportunity as we would have ordered desserts and further drinks if we'd had better service.

The food let it down. We had a roast and the potatoes were that poor. I couldn't eat them. There was not enough gravy and the yorkies were completely tasteless. Apart from those bits. The food was OK. The crackling on the pork was beautiful. Definitely not worth the price as it is.
