My daughter has attended DSA for over 6 years. She absolutely loves it! The teachers are amazing and are all about the children - bringing out their confidence, building their skills and making sure that they have fun. My daughter has moved up through different groups and each group has been incredibly supportive of each other- kindness pours out of them all, making it a place where children feel safe and comfortable to express themselves and to always have a go.

My daughter has been attending acting class and musical theatre for four years . She absolutely loves the classes. Teachers are so friendly and supportive. Her singing and acting has improved immensely, so much so she has had the lead roles in school productions. They have definitely brought her talent out of her. Highly recommend

My son has been taking classes with DSA for about 6 years since he was 7 years old and not only does he love the classes, tutors and friendships he has made, but it has fuelled his passion for performing arts whether that is taking part himself or going to the theatre.
DSA is an incredibly inclusive school, in which students with all abilities can participate. We have seen our son's confidence grow in the time he has been with DSA and when is he is performing with DSA you would never know that this is a kid who has anxiety.
And what can we say about showcase days; they are simply wonderful. The excitement is palpable, the commitment from the students to be at their best for each other is wonderful and the tutors, well their commitment and dedication is amazing.
If you are looking for a caring, inclusive, fun performing arts school for your child, where they will learn and experience the craft of performing, then I can't recommend DSA enough.

Amazing school, spent years as part of the youth theatre and then the one year diploma course. The ethos and acting techniques I learnt at my time at DSA lead to my career in the theatre industry. Cannot recommend the school enough.

Myself and my husband went along to The Dorset School of Acting "Showcase 2017" this weekend. What an absolutely wonderful show. The show consisted of many different themes and the participants ranged from all ages, from the wee little ones to the Diploma year, they all worked so hard, were very professional and were ALL extremely gifted. I have seen many different shows over the years and this is definitely one to be remembered. I would like to thank James and Lauren for their hard work and dedication. Since joining your school, my daughter has gone from strength to strength and you have taught her many amazing and important skills which are vital for her to go on and use at university for her to realise her dream of becoming an actor. (You have given her a Foundation Year to remember). Sending our daughter to THE DORSET SCHOOL OF ACTING was definitely the best decision we made for our daughters future. Thankyou so much James and Lauren.

Highly recommend the 1 year foundation course for anyone with aspirations of furthering their actor training at a 3 year drama school. The teaching truly is specialist in all aspects and I challenge anyone to find another foundation course in acting that provides each student with as much individual attention and care as DSA does. This is the first real actor training as such that I’ve received and it’s been as insightful and challenging as I hoped it would be. The method, ‘The Process’, that James has created really does break down acting into the essential rudiments and as a result he has been able to gift actors with the fundamental tools that they need to find real truth and consistency in performance, and although it has been challenging at times it has never failed. I’ve grown not only as an actor under the mentorship of both James and Laura and their entire teaching staff at DSA but also as a young person and I’ve never felt as understood or able to just unapologetically be myself as I have during my time at DSA with James and Laura, and I’ll feel forever indebted to them because of this.
