Absolutely disgusted with the care my grandma has received in this home and how they have treated my family, the staff are very dishonest and has resulted in my family losing there relative being unable to visit a poorly lady within the home setting. I have special needs and unable to visit alone which upsets me.The care is shocking and the staff are incompetent.I miss my grandma very much but nothing i can do due to the care home’s incompetence all due to my parents fighting for better care for my grandma . i would not recommend this place to anyone. all reviews can't be telling lies can they if they all say the same thing

After seeing the response from the home to my cousins previous review, I have to say I am appalled at the total lack of accountability from the home. My Grandfather was very well when he arrived at the home and lasted for 3 months. He was left constantly in his own urine and with a full Catheter hence the reason he used to remove it. IT CAUSED HIM PAIN, yet the home didn’t give a monkeys about it. Instead they have taken it upon themselves to shame him in a reply to a review. How very professional. To add to the lack of care, it was also very apparent that there was Covid in the home, as acknowledged by a senior member of staff, and absolutely no PPE or notification of the fact. This was questioned and was only confirmed after this. This place is an absolute disgrace and should be shut down.
My Grandfather was found slumped in a chair with pneumonia, unable to lift his own head. He died because he was completely neglected by the people who were PAID to look after him. Shame on all of you, I don’t know how you sleep at night!!!

This is Definitely not a place I'd put my loved 1 in that's for sure. So many issues down
from care & unwelcoming rude staff except for 1 who goes Above And Beyond for the Resident many of complaints raised evident in email . 1 family member emailing concern's & 1 ringing in a morning to make sure alls ok but that was to much contact with family according to Management as they cannot answer to everyone.
The manager Threatened to Terminate the contract with no fault of the residents own and was said in the Heat of the moment at a meeting which is Absolutely shocking Behaviour and unacceptable but now believe they wont terminate this now a sudden change around there . And to top it off 1 sided story ) witness on our side ) immediate family member been refused entry to the carehome premises to see his mum not Allowed to ring & not Allowed to email all due to 1 care staff refusing getting the resident out of bed at t.time and refusing a GP as stated didn't no wether she was unwell or not so he said he will see him soon and he would go and do it hisself but this is classed this as threatening and Abusive violent Behaviour , sent thee email refusing entry a week later without even asking the family member's side . plenty of proof of complainants so cannot be Denied and pictures if needed . I would honestly look elsewhere before choosing this home .
I do not write my review on Any other Account but thee Experience & Dealings with the home and Although they like to silence people with there review's as don't like negativity I do Beleive in Honesty and feedback being provided to make other's aware of experiences like states reviews are for .

I’m sorry to say but this home is dreadful! My uncle only had a short stay before he passed away, but the fact that obvious chest infections were not reported to the doctor didn’t help, even though myself and others reported it to staff. We got the doc ourselves! My first visit to the home goes like this, I walked in and walked straight to his room without being challenged even though I had never been before so they didn’t know me from Adam, I entered his room to find him wet through as catheter bag had totally back flowed and leaked all over! I then looked down to find faeces on the floor and all over him. I went to look for a member of staff and found none, not even in the main lounge where several residents were sat. So I proceeded to go back to his room and clean him up myself, this took quite a while, however in this time not one person came in the room to check in my uncle. My point being I could have been anyone! Subsequent visits after this weren’t much better, even though I had reported the previous issues. My uncle was a very proud and dignified man and was neglected and left behind a door. Reviews on here are not good so I know we can’t all be wrong! Someone needs to listen and do something.

I wouldn’t recommend this home to anyone my mum has had a bad experience here numerous unwitnessed falls , unexplained black eye , hygiene is poor , lack off medical attention when needed eg water infections abscess . Suspected stroke , medical negligence due to over prescribing medication the list is endless my mum as been in here seven months lets not forget the rudeness and arrogance of staff which as resulted in less family members visiting including myself due to this and there incompetence i f i was next off kin she would off been out off there months ago . Before choosing this home look further a field and try and Avoid at all costs. .

Home from home.....
The Fountains care home is so homely and friendly, I can highly recommend. The staff are this homes biggest asset. They are so passionate, caring and always willing to go above and beyond.
The home has undergone a huge refurb and this is ongoing. The reception and lounges are beautiful. The home has relandscaped the gardens both front and back and more work is planned to refit all the bathrooms. Several bedrooms have already been redone, redecorated with lovely new furniture.
Food is fabulous, a full balanced diet is offered and nothing is too much trouble.
The manager and her team are so friendly and professional, and happy to act on any suggestions.
Highly recommend this Care home for you and your loved ones.

My Mum lived at the Fountain care home for 7 months.
We found all the staff extremely helpful, kind and fun when needed. Nothing was ever to much trouble for them. Always on hand if you needed anything.
Mum settled really well into the lowery unit. Her room was always clean and tidy. As was all the communal areas.
There was a small area downstairs used for a self service cafe. The park was next door. So often we would go for a walk in the park then have a drink in the area downstairs before going back to the unit. It made a nice change for my Mum and the family.
I would like to thank all the staff at the Fountains for their kindness towards my Mum and the family, at a very difficult time for us. They made the transitional period into the fountains very smoothly for all of us. Making the final months with my Mum easier leaving us with lots of happy memories.
If you are looking for a care home for a family member I would definitely recommend the foundation.
Thank you
