Really good place for a family holiday in North Yorkshire. Cabins well done, although you will need to bring your own towels and soaps. Staff friendly, and beautiful place to get away from it all. Beds really comfy and good quality. Very affordable. Can only highly recommend

What an INCREDIBLE centre! I’ve recently spent a week here on retreat, taking some time out. The cabins are so welcoming - the fire was on when I arrived and a welcome booklet to get me sorted as it was my first time here. Everything was so clean and accommodating. I had such a peaceful and restful week here and enjoyed the walk to the Prayer Hut too! The surroundings are beautiful - I’d definitely recommend 😊

Fantastic place, peaceful and quiet. Cabin was clean and tidy, beds were comfy. Everything you need in the kitchen. We had a problem with our cooker and sorted straight away. Great dog enclosed area. We were given a dog guard so he didn’t need to be kept inside the cabin. Great walks around the area. We have book to return for a longer stay.

4th visit - love this place. A place to rewind and re-charge. Surrounded by nature and wonderful views. In a basic cabin and aware of upgrading to other cabins but still clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend for a chilled time (games room competition aside!). Pub in village closed but fab pub for food 10 mins away in Carperby. We will be back.

This is the second time we have been here. The first time was the premier cabins and the second was the standard due to availability. Both cabins are amazing. There is everything you could possibly need and the kitchen is well stocked with utensils. Everybody we can across on both visits were friendly and most importantly included my now 7 year old son in on conversations. As we were leaving on the Thursday a very friendly man told us not to rush in leaving as the cleaners were coming until Friday. This wasn’t the only person who said this and we felt it was a very nice touch. My two friends and son also came along each time and rented the cabin next to us. Well all loved it so much we will be booking again. The location is fantastic and we spent most of our time outdoors and visiting local attractions. Whilst it was closed on this visit I want to mention the forbidden corner it’s a family day must. Thank you again for an amazing break and we are looking forward to booking again.

The Jonas Centre was the perfect place for our Church Weekend Away. Our delegates were blown away by the surroundings and the beautiful cabins. The centre provided a wonderful get-away with everything we needed for a memorable and blessed weekend. And the staff were incredible, so helpful. I especially loved that it was just as important for them to pray and encourage us as it was for them to look after the site and make sure our trip ran smoothly. Thank you so much for a weekend that exceeded all our expectations.

We have just returned from our first family break away since before the start of the pandemic and all I can say is thank you to the Jonas Centre and it’s staff. We had a wonderful stay. It was great for the children with a play area just opposite the cabins we stayed in. Two of the cabins had been refurbished with all the necessary requirements for a family of five, washing up liquid, cleaning cloths, tea towels, toilet rolls, hand wash liquid, even kitchen roll. The beds and bedding were clean and very comfortable. The third of the three cabins was in the old style, so before refurbishment, still very clean and comfortable beds and bedding and all the same cleaning cloths etc. As I’ve previously stayed in self catering accommodation I was not expecting all the cleaning cloths, washing up liquid etc so was pleasantly surprised when I realised I need not have brought so much with me! There is a laundry room on site which we didn’t need to use but it was good to see should we need it. |The area is beautiful and great for a quiet stay or a weekend of cycling or walking. This weekend the quiet of the woods only broken by the nesting crows and the sound of my grandchildren having fun running around playing free with no worry of traffic to stop their game of block! |Saturday morning the weather was the only downside but there was no need to worry as we had brought our wet weather gear and carried on regardless. The sun shone in the evening and we all enjoyed our bbq. The last day of our weekend stay at the Jonas centre was lovely and as we didn’t have to leave until later in the afternoon (a bonus) we had a leisurely Sunday morning to pack and entertain the children and then on to our lunch in the local pub a lovely end to a lovely weekend away. Thank you Jonas centre.

My family and I stayed at the Jonas Centre while in the Yorkshire Dales for a family event. We knew before arrival that this wasn’t going to be a luxury stay however for the price I think we were hoping for a bit more. ||||The initial impression when we entered the cabin was that it was overall clean and tidy - what more can you expect from a hostel style accommodation. However as we settled in, we started to notice certain aspects of the cabin that were incredibly dirty. ||Down the side of the wardrobes in the bedrooms were absolutely filthy - I have never seen such thick dust and cobweb build up in my life, the corners of the rooms had cobwebs in them and so did some of the cupboards in the kitchen area. It was clear that the level of cleaning was very basic and it was only cleaned on a surface level rather than a thorough, deep clean. ||||The bedding and mattress was clean and comfortable and the bathroom facilities were extremely basic but they were good and felt clean. ||||The actual area was very nice, extremely rural but that was expected, the views from the cabin were lovely looking out onto farmland. It also had what seemed like a small farm area and we enjoyed having the company of the animals to interact with, there were multiple chickens that had free roam of the grounds which we found to be quite charming as animal lovers. However we did have concerns that they perhaps needed a little more supervision as the sheep escaped the pen on many occasions and panicked when they couldn’t get back in and I actually had to rescue a chicken that was hanging from a fence by it’s leg with no way of knowing how long the poor thing had been stuck like that:( ||||There was a notable lack of staff on the grounds, when we arrived we were greeted by one staff member who showed us to the cabin however after the first day we barely saw anyone, the reception area was only open for what seemed like a couple of hours a day too. ||||At the end of our stay we were expected to strip off our own bedding and take out the rubbish etc - as i mentioned, we knew this wasn’t going to be a luxury stay however when you have paid the amount of money we did for this stay it did feel very unfair that we were asked to do this. ||||The bedroom windows had very small, dated curtains which did not block out much light at all and there was also windows towards the ceiling which had no curtains or blinds meaning from 5am onwards there was beaming sunlight entering the room. ||||It may be worth noting that this is a religious based organisation and the cabin included a framed photo of Jesus and option to leave a prayer suggestion, i only mention this as i know this has potential to make some people uncomfortable. ||||Overall, we will most likely not be returning to this accommodation, the lack of cleanliness is definitely something that needs improving. There were of course some redeeming qualities in the points mentioned above so I think it just depends on what sort of stay you’re looking for.
