Lovely place, really lovely polite staff, incredible food. We felt extremely welcome with our children. My middle son has a lot of disabilities and I felt they really made an effort with him, kept him entertained with a game on the table and really catered for him and his off menu food requests too!! Cannot thank them enough for their hospitality. We will definitely return in future.

Nice place, great food and friendly staff. We had beef Wellington, pulled beef with yorkshire pudding, cranberry cheese from the Christmas menu, 1st time I had beef wellington from a restaurant, better than i expected.

This is a great place. Always a warm and wonderful welcome. A great selection of beers and spirits. Always good guest beers on. Doom Bar on tap! Hello! And occasionally a visit from Ghostship. Food is seriously good.
If you like steaks, you’re in luck! There is a rugby loving South African in situ and they understand meat!. Steaks are excellent, I don’t even bother saying how I like it. I leave it to the chefs and it comes out perfect. But you can get it how ever you want it. But give it a try. Trust the chefs to get it right! Chips are immense. Perfect. And the range of sauces for the steak are delightful.
Everyone is really friendly and accommodating.
It can get busy so you may need to book if you’re in at peak times.
Keep an eye out on the webpage for the amazing braai and exotic burgers. And there’s a host of deals to be had. Reminds me I must get my loyalty card! Been in twice this week and not grabbed one.
Overall 10/10. Give it a go. I guarantee you will not be let down!!
Ps Don’t forget to let Stuart know that the Boks are lucky and will be out first round of the next World Cup!

What can I say? This place is utterly smashing the food. Stuart, Rachael and the team are brilliant. Make you feel welcome, go out of their way to help and are delivering food that is simply brilliant.
Great steaks are guaranteed.Ive tried most of them now and have never had a meal I thought run of the mill. Steaks are cooked superbly.
“WellI Wednesday” is discount night for a superb Beef Wellington.

The recent taster menu was off the scale. 10/10! They are cooking to such a high standard. Far beyond what you’d expect from the “local pub”.
Each dish was presented well, looked delicious and tasted superb. All dishes came out at the same time, head chef is on point and his team were performing to do this. No long waits. All I could see were people enjoying the food.
I matched mine with wine from the decent wine menu. Non ridiculous mark ups. Some really nice, well thought out choices. One of the most enjoyable meals and nights I’ve had in a long time.

Enjoy!!

The Kings Head has been popular for a long time but the new owners are doing a tremendous job. They have a great team in the kitchen and the food is outstanding. I have recently enjoyed their themed evenings and was blown away with the creativity and quality. At the game evening the stand out dishes were the Venison and the Goose courses; the Venison was beautiful and tender and the Goose was full of flavour. The the o the courses were delicious and flavourful.
The Seafood evening was as good if not better than the Game night, with Oysters, Scallops, Langoustine and Halibut featuring. The Oyster was a first for me and I was really impressed complemented by Salmon and Caviar. The Scallops were cooked to perfection and presented on a half shell with an excellent sweetcorn sauce. The Halibut needs to be a regular on the menu, a lovely piece of fish and a great dauphinoise to accompany.
Their Beef Wellington on the standard menu is worth the trip alone but the Themed evenings are a special treat. If in doubt, book.

First time at this restaurant. Very friendly owner as was the rest of the staff upon arrival and during our meal. Had a good selection of flavoured gins, I opted for Rhubarb and Ginger. Malbec went down well. Starters, mains and desserts were top class. We will be booking again.

Outstanding service , food presentation attractive to the eye. Would totally recommend the lamb kebab for starter ?also had the beef wellington for the main, which i can see why it's so popular. We will definitely be returning. Oh and save room for the sticky toffee pudding!

Went here with friends. Its a nice, traditional pub turned restaurant. Nice to have air con on such a hot day. The food was really good if not a tad expensive. It was quality food though and had clearly been cooked from scratch and not bought in and microwaved liked so many places. The downside was my friends white chocolate pudding. The portion was tiny and she said it was bordering tasteless. On a positive note, the waitress replaced it with something else so that was really nice of her. Would definitely visit again.
