We had an enjoyable roast here back in October, greeted by lovely staff and seated promptly despite no booking and the restaurant being rather busy.

We felt the food was good value for money and tasty, and it was nice to have a vegetarian option as you sometimes find that’s not the case.

If you’re looking for open fires, cosy vibes and good food - this your spot.

Wonderful welcoming and friendly atmosphere and truly the best Sunday lunch we have had in a pub. Breakfast is also not only really good value but well prepared quality ingredients and delicious. Owners and staff clearly like dogs as our dog was made as welcome as us. Highly recommend

Stayed at the campsite for a couple of nights to have a base to go hiking from. Great location to get out on the moor quickly and easily, facilities were clean and having the choice on where to pitch the tent was a nice bonus.
Atmosphere in the pub was great, and easy to find a comfortable corner for me and the dog after a day of walking. Food was good and with the Dartmoor brewery just around the corner the beer was great. Staff were all fantastic, stopping to chat and give the dog a few treats when it was quiet.
Will almost certainly stay again.

It's a nice setting to stop for a drink, very dog friendly and nice staff, plenty of outside seating and a good spacious pub. Food was slightly sub par really, which is a shame as I think it would need to really good for people to make a special trip out. £8.50 for three chicken goujons just felt a bit pricey for what was obviously cheap frozen food. The rest was okay but you won't be blown away by it. Hope it gets better, either prices down or food quality up.

Recently stayed in the bunkhouse and had evening meal at the Plume. The bunkhouse was very affordable and spotlessly clean. A really good base to explore Dartmoor. Pub had a wet friendly atmosphere and the food was just what we wanted after a long week at work and to set us up for a weekend of walking. A good menu to choose from. Highly recommended 👍

Stopped here with the dogs after a morning trek across the moor. So impressed with the general vibe we returned for lunch the following day - great decision!
Ticks every box for a Dartmoor pub. Excellent (and extremely local) ale all the way from the Dartmoor Brewery about half a mile up the road. The local 0% bottled beer is the best alcohol-free I've tried and the Jail Ale is even better out of a pint glass by a roaring fire than the bottled version.
As for the food, well who wants gastro pub michelin star nonsense with celery foam and aubergine sorbe when you've just taken a cold muddy trek across the moor with three dogs? Not us. This was perfectly cooked comfort food washed down with good ale served by helpful and friendly staff. Will definitely come again next time we're visiting the wonderful Dartmoor.
