Bit disappointed as went here on a Thursday for their £12.50 steak night but the person who cooks the steak was off sick so wasn't on the menu!! Although it was still on the main menu at twice the price so not sure what would happen had we tried to order it!! The food we did have from their Thrifty Thursday menu was very tasty and well cooked. Staff were very friendly

I don’t usually write reviews, but I was so disappointed in this pub in the middle of such a pretty village. We had high hopes. First of all the toilets were absolutely filthy and normally I would not have stayed, but we were hungry after a walk and thought we’d still give it a go. The menu was basic but the landlord told us about some specials, so I chose the homemade fish cake. It came very quickly, was huge and completely cold in the middle. I asked him to take it away and I wouldn’t bother with anything else, as I could already see that my husband’s ciabatta didn’t look very appetising. There was a very small apology and when we paid on leaving, the landlord was stood right next to my husband and completely ignored him, with no apology for our experience at all. All in all very shabby and such a shame for what could be a great pub in a beautiful village. I just don’t understand how something as simple as cleaning the toilets and serving decent food can seemingly be so difficult for some

Just had a wonderful lunch with family in The Red Lyon. Two had the Hunter’s Chicken and the others had the Peppered Pork and Mushroom Pie. Having eaten in this pub many times over the years I can honestly say the food has come on in leaps and bounds. Not only that Martin and staff are very welcoming and friendly.

We only there for Sunday lunch it’s lovely and relaxing place to go only one disappointment on roast dinner no roast-parsnip I am not keen on red cabbage beside that is wonderful everybody is friendly. oh, and one more thing I can take my Dog there, my Scooby Doo Love the roast beef and roast pork😂❤️

Great Sunday lunch. Really helpful and friendly staff, and despite being busy the service was top draw. Food was generous and tasty. Good selection of beers as well. All set it the lovely village of slinfold with plenty of walks nearby.

Visited for lunch as we hadn't been to for many years and wish I hadn't. My wife ordered chicken burger which was ok but not great I ordered fish and chips which was truly awful the batter was soaked in fat not crispy and tasteless and peas were hard and cold
On the bright side chips were great.
