Had a great day visiting for the founders tour. Billy and the staff are lovely and so knowledgeable. Loved giving the pigs belly rubs and playing with the lambs and goats! The cafe is a real bonus serving lovely vegan food and then the pantry to take vegan goodies home! Can't wait to go back.
Also special thanks to Lil for accommodating us at the last minute, lovely to meet her too.

Nice place and amazing what is done for the animals. The only thing I have to say and I hope it's taken into consideration is that is says as you aren't entering that you can eat in there but (vegan of course) but it sort of gives the impression you can bring your own food and eat it. But when you get to the area you think is a picnic area it does say you can't bring your own food. I think it should say this clearly at the entrance as we brought all our picnic bits with us, sat down started to eat to them be told we couldn't, so we ate in the car but had we of known this we wouldn't have brought our stuff and just eaten in the cafe.

A wonderful day out. Many different types of rescued animals including horses, donkeys, pigs, cows, sheep, chickens, ducks, seagulls and goats. Join a tour or wander at your leisure. There is a cafe selling hot and cold food as well as drinks, snacks and icecream. On site there is a food store, plants for sale and a thrift shop. Free parking. Staff and volunteers are friendly and helpful, they make everyone welcome.

This is a lovely family friendly place. Children can get close to animals that have been rescued and now live in peace. The cafe is really good value for money and the food is good. There are a couple of shops selling art and food. This is a firm favourite for our family.

Amazing place full of very happy saved animals. The food in the restaurant is amazing! And the shops have a good selection of shrift items and food. They even have vegan Yorkshire's in the freezer and packet mixes which I cant find anywhere else ... They have boxes for your shopping which is a fabulous idea

First visit with our grandchildren, WOW ? what an amazing job everyone is doing, all the animals are happy and clearly well looked after, despite a wet day much fun was had. All the volunteers were happy to chat and tell us about each and every animal in their care, lovely cafe and shops. Will definitely be going back. Well done to all involved at the sanctuary ?

Absolutely beautiful place. All the animals looks so happy and well cared for. I loved that the pens had information about each resident so you can learn more about each individual animal there. The little shop is lovely, I bought a beautiful picture and some bits and bobs. We had a vegan Victoria sponge cake which was the best I've ever tasted! Would highly recommend this peaceful sanctuary. Hats off to Billy and all his amazing volunteers ? It really is a retreat for the animals lucky enough to call it home!

Drove all the way from Portsmouth only to visit the retreat, and it was closed. The website does not give clear information on opening times but said "until last week of November." we came on 30th November, and it was already closed. Tried also calling every single week of November without success. We even emailed them last month to ask for any volunteer opportunities as advised on their website and had no reply. It is quite sad that communication is not clear and creates confusion.
