We visited the Soapbox Children's Theatre for the very first Baby Bubbles and my twins absolutely loved it. The lights, sounds and props captivated them. Look forward to bringing them again soon.

This independent children's theatre company also (occasionally) does children's festivals and raves. We've been to a few shows and it's always a pleasure - the puppetry and stories are wonderful.

This year, our family went to both the Wild Tribe and Spellbound festivals. It's a real delight for children, with storytelling, forest school experiences, dance, live music, performances and some opportunities for unusual craft experiences, such as making furniture for pixies or making instruments out of vegetables. You may meet animals or mythical beings.

Highly recommended. Invite your friends and make it a day to remember. We did. It's all within a contained space and if it looks like it's going to rain, they've got a massive circus tent. Events within the festival usually repeat and there are sign ups for the very popular forest school area.

We decided to celebrate our son's 7th birthday by going to Spellbound and we are so glad we did. Roll on next year!

We absolutely loved Wild Tribe festival! A wonderful inclusive atmosphere with brilliant activities. Our favourites were the drama based obstacle course, crafting opportunities and scientific forest school activities. Also so lovely to have a safe space that the children have freedom within. Very crowded in the session I think. Booked too many people in, we were so squished together. A bit hard to concentrate on the story as the age range for babies was too wide. Had toddlers trammelling over tiny babies, again made worse by the lack of space.
The session itself would have been lovely if we had had room to participate. Gorgeous decoration of the room too.

We loved the baby & toddler immersive story this morning. A lovely journey through paper wood ending with a teddy bears picnic. My boy was captivated and loved the interaction with the storyteller. A warm and welcoming place - a gem of a place. 👍

My daughter and I have attended almost every performance this extraordinary theatre have created. There is truly something very magical about every visit & it is difficult to capture the experience/essence & describe it! We are captivated every time; from the intricate hand made puppetry, props & sets, creative storytelling and songs to the use of light, movement, outdoor space and audience participation. I truly love what they offer young audiences beyond a wide variety of theatre shows to story stomps, themed storytelling, fairy festivals, a unique toy shop, workshops, raves etc - what a vital resource it is! Do take a visit - you will not be disappointed and undoubtedly carried away into a different world ✨

Enjoyed an absolutely fantastic performance of The Elf Who Lost Christmas today, it really is so brilliant how the team craft these magical experiences for kids (and adults!), they take such care to include everyone in a fun and relaxed way. Given all they have been through with storm damage recently it’s tremendous that they’ve put this ace show on, our little ones had the best time - thank you!

If I could sum up soapbox theatre in two words it would have to be wonderfully magical!
I have a 6 year old daughter who gets so nervous and anxious in new surroundings that she often ends up overwhelmed and leaving, but soap box is so lovely and enjoyable that it’s one of very few places my daughter is comfortable and confident enough to enjoy completely. Everyone who run the events and productions are lovely and the guests that attend there are always a wonderful creating a beautiful enjoyable atmosphere. We look forward to coming back soon
