It looked like families were having a great time when I drove 'Dad's Taxi' to do a drop-off/collect.

Access, in our car-ridden society, (that's all the other cars, not mine) is a little awkward and I was concerned that residents' parking could have impeded access of the emergency services, but my major worry was being T-boned by the impatient driver on the A50 attempting to overtake the traffic queue just as the access road cleared and I began to turn right into the freshly-made space. Fortunately it was as much fuss as being chased through New York by paparazzi and we all arrived safely with only a disdainful gesture to explain away to an interested younger member of the family.

The Victoria Club: promoting education, mental agility and entertainment in the Holmes Chapel area.

Went in here Sunday to break up a long drive home and to watch the Manchester Derby. Never felt so Un-welcomed. Bar staff were very rude. Do not recommend for someone who isn’t local.

Went to my first event at the Vic Club tonight. The hall was freezing cold (6C outside) and the room smelt strongly of damp. Probably from the hole in the roof and plaster falling from the ceiling. People were sitting in there coats and the Elvis tribute played the most obscure tracks ever heard. There were 9 of us on our table who hadn't heard more than 2 tracks in the first half...one of them was Tina Turner song. Staff friendly so they earned the 1* WILL NOT BE RETURNING!

Great place. Been a member (family) for 8 years. Big green out the back so as long as no cricket is on the kids can run riot. Very family friendly and staff are great. As long as we live in the village, this will always be a favourite. Snooker room is good with 2 tables. Pool table and darts there too. If you like bowling then there's a green outside for that. Its at its best on a sunny sunday when you will find lots of other families there and the kids having a laugh.
