Had a week here in September.
Staff great food good bar prices ok entertainment good.
Bad points hotel in cul de sac and coach got blocked in by neighbours.
Plumbing really bad to get a shower you needed to put hot tap on in the sink to get the hot water in shower to work.Room stank of drains.Permanent wet patch on carpet.
Needs bedrooms to be updated .Outside of hotel not very well looked after looks like there had usedto be wall around hotel which has been knocked down and the foundations left in situ and full of weeds.
Would go to Paignton again but not this hotel.

Arrived after travelling near 6 hours to find no parking. Asked at reception and got told to find somewhere on the street (on double yellows) in a rudely manner.||The shower had no hot water, and the bedside lights didnt work. Got moved rooms due to no hot water. The room we moved to didnt have hot water.||||Breakfast: toom a while for it too come and when it did arrive. When it did arrive the bacon didnt look cooked and there was more fat than meat. ||||Rated two due to the night porter being helpful but would not be returning.

Room was cold,needs decorating, cobwebs in window ,needs better house keeping, didn't hoover our room why we were there.weeds all round the outside of hotel very run down.Didnt seem to have many staff. Reception staff serving dinner and behind bar,they were friendly to guests when they had time to be.

Stayed 5 days at the hotel the staff very polite & friendly, food excellent. The room needed up dating & better housekeeping, but the hotel great location just a walk down the road to the sea front ..

On arrival hotel looked great with a really welcoming smart entrance and reception area. We arrived early so went into the lounge bar with our luggage to wait for checking. Ordered some drinks from the bar and sat to relax. Receptionist called us together and there started the rules and regulations talk, as if we were 10 year olds, despite being given written instructions .Room keys given out and we all checked into our rooms. Looked ok but small is an understatement, opened my curtains and they became detached from the curtain rail, they were the cheapest you can buy on the market. Hubby managed to put it back up. The usual cheap coffee/tea facilities, I always bring my own because of this. Hubby had a shower and not amount of trying to adjust the temp worked so a scolding shower it was. Breakfast was very bland and cheaply put together, again cheap coffee. We had to choose our dinner selections ready for evening meal and were told that if we were not turning up for the meal we MUST let them know in advance as they didn’t want wasted meals. Ok so I’ve paid for my room and meals and really not sure why they are concerned as they are losing nothing!!!!!! Had a great day in Paignton and arrived back too late for evening meal, my bad my loss, some of my group who had turned up for food found their portions tiny, the veg hardly blanched and just not up to any standard at all. The Hotel caters for seniors and our group were between 50 & 72 the entertainment was a man on keyboard and frankly the radio would have been better, it really looked like a scene from cocoon (before they jumped into the pool) more like a care home than hotel. Off we went in search of real entertainment and a great night was had at the Spinning Wheel. Came home from a fab night out to no electricity in the room, apart from ceiling light. Found the night porter who had no clue were the fuse box was and just walked around looking vague. He was walking up and the corridor opening and shutting doors!! Eventually after about 1/2 hr the electricity came on. Home the next morning and we couldn’t get out of there fast enough. If you want a break at a care home that treats you like kids then this is the place for you.

so far so good! Breakfast is good but not much range also the staff are so nice here friendly and welcoming, housekeeping everyday and clean and facility’s are good. Also not too pricey the rooms are good for what you pay for, might come back here not 100% sure yet since our stay isn’t over but so far it’s been great. Also has var and refreshments in the suite part

Nice friendly comfortable hotel Steve the manager and Alison, Ian the barman , and Lucy were all welcoming and friendly.
