14.09.2024. Wedding Reception.

I recently had the great pleasure of attending my friends Wedding in Southampton, with the Reception afterwards being held in the Velmore Centre.

Lots of rooms were available for dining, food service, children's activities, etc... the kitchen was well equipped.

Access to the building and parking were excellent.

I attended a Bulgarian dancing event.
It was a lovely atmosphere. They are having this every Friday night and everyone is welcome 😊

A lovely mix of church and community centre. Last Sunday they had a short harvest service followed by a great meal - chicken pie and veg with a choice of deserts. Lots of folks from the community as well as church members came. Great atmosphere. Wednesday morning prayer time and Wednesday evening Bible studies both attract double figure numbers and Sunday services are led by a lively music group with sound Biblical teaching.

Hired a room, for a private matter, perfect for what we needed. Looked at coming up events and a couple of things to do that seemed fun. So who knows Friendly staff too.

Velmore community centre is an absolutely fantastic place, there are many groups and activities run here, there is a lovely little cafe, fabulous staff and volunteers, great community who support special events etc.

Velmore has a lot of history, which is represented on the wings of the birds, which adorn the entrance, the artwork was created by the residents of Velmore, new and old, some of us having moved into new builds nearly 60 years ago.

There us even a book marking the interesting history of Velmore.

Velmore community centre holds a special place in mine and many others hearts.

It has a small car park.
The building is completely wheelchair accessible,

Great venue to hire for groups, art sessions, music, fittness, health and social care, weddings, birthdays etc.

Very welcoming. I go for the IT course. Efficiently run and inclusive with lots of individual attention for those who need extra help. Bright and cheerful cafe. Friendly staff. Good, clean facilities. Plenty of parking

The cherry tree cafe (in the velmore center) is super with friendly staff. "Fry up Friday" provides a full English breakfast at a low price and there's always cakes and tea and coffee at good prices too

Happy to help as we needed to use the facility to have a funeral there. Nothing was too much for them to organise.
