Essential & emotional service for the sensory loss (vision impaired and hearing impaired people respectively) guests.
Several activities during the day time for most people... please check the website for further details.
Please enquire about additional services such as BSL courses, Youth Club or sensory loss awareness etc.

Absolutely amazing resource for deaf and blind people of Stockport, I am so glad I found it. I took my 92 year old dad last week and felt so welcomed. Two ladies in the resource centre demonstrated mobile phones, doorbells & landlines. We also met Ian Vaughan who is outstanding. He is their Tech Support Volunteer and all week had taken an awful lot of time and trouble to research phones that he thinks would be best for my dad. He has been thorough and really helpful. Thanks to you all for helping us.

I go to the deaf club to meet more deaf people and practice my signing. The people are so friendly and welcoming. They are so supportive. So glad I found this place.

The audiologist was very good,he explained the procedure throughly. Anyone having trouble with their ears get in touch with Walthew House excellent.

This is used by various organisations for group meetings but the main organisation running the place is the Stockport society for the Deaf so the verbal instrutions as you enter the building may seem to be a bit incongruous.

There are three meeting rooms available for use, with two upstairs accessible by stairs or lift. The larger of the two having a proper kitchen off it whilst the other has a mini bar area (closed when I've been). The facilities seem to be well maintained and clean.

Kitchen was filthy / kitchen’s floor not very clean !! fridges was filthy , Dirty tea towels in try on the cookers, mess , tables not clean , big halls needs redecorate , no health hygiene certificates on walls !!
Hopefully sorting out asap
