I booked on line and requested a dog friendly table. We were greeted, shown our table and given menus. Our server was very polite and helpful. Food was ordered and delivered quickly, it was nice and hot. Nothing was to much trouble for our server. The only downside was there was no lamb on the menu, fish pie and the mixed grill wasn't available.

Good pub with a nice location, we visited on a sunny day and there is plenty of outdoor seating in a lovely beer garden, however the majority of the food price did not match the quality of the meal. Two of the party ordered the steak and blue cheese sandwiches (£11.79) which were below par. We were asked how we would like our steak (we ordered one medium and one rare) and they both came out well done and chewy. Having since read other reviews of this pub, the steak is definitely one to avoid. For a meal of around £12, I would have expected a bit more on my plate, as we both only received around 12 chips (photo attached) and the presentation was a bit sad. Could definitely have benefited with a few more chips, some garnish and perhaps a coleslaw, especially for a £12 sandwich. Only other note is that there really wasn’t much blue cheese for something advertised as a steak and blue cheese sandwich, this could have been a really special sandwich, but just felt a bit unloved.

On the other hand, we all had food jealously of the feta and watermelon salad, which was lovely.

Only other note is that pepsi was £4.10 a pint. It’s cheaper to drink a pint of beer, 2 pints for £7 so treat yourself

Had a lovely meal, main and pudding. Three in the group. All really enjoyed their meals. Chicken pie was full to the brim, flaky pastry. Chips lovely and crisp, scampi or fish not greasy, crispy batter. Crumble for desert was delicious. Served by Ellie who was very professional and friendly. Quick service for food and drinks.

We decided to use this pub as it was mentioned on Search for Sites as a place you could stay overnight with your Motorhome. How lucky that we did; on arrival we introduced ourselves at the bar and were made to feel very welcome. We were served by the lovely Ellie, who was very attentive. Our food arrived promptly and it was delicious.
Think we may stay for another night as it’s in such a lovely area for exploring the Peaks!

Having being a resident for many years, we thought we would try somewhere different for our evening family meal, food was average pub food, the service let it down, staff were friendly, quick service to take our drink and food order, quick service of the food, the bottle of fizz was warm, no sauces offered with the meal for the children, after finishing eating we stacked the plates, but after several members of staff looking at them they didn’t get cleared away! We drank up mid meal and no body returned to take orders, even when we asked for the bill nobody return to take the payment! When we got up to pay 3 members of staff were stood chatting at the bar. Just the service let it down, and average pub food.

Great quick stop to break a journey. Warm and efficient welcome from the staff. Quick service for food and drink. Had a couple of light bites, drinks and shared a pudding. Impressed with the quality of what was served food wise and the staff. Will definitely come back as its in a very handy place.

Lovely pub and atmosphere. Food was quite poor though; ample meat was on the carvery, but I was served what looked like a small pork scratching under the guise of crackling. When I complained, a small bowl of 3 of the same pork scratchings was provided. Roast potatoes were also anaemic!
