Absolutely brilliant! Great team of lads! They've looked after us in literally every way. We had two first class plasterers put the new walls and ceilings and two chaps named Lee and Dan took care of the new kitchen fitting. Jasper over saw the work. They were absolutely professional at all times, the quality of work second to none. Why any bad reviews about the work force I have no idea! The lads that came to work on our kitchen are simply outstanding tradesmen..........our new kitchen looks brilliant as it nears completion. By the time it's over we're going to have a kitchen worthy of a country manor. Brilliant work.......many thanks lads 👍

Terrible organisation. Visit the plush offices on Hartherton Street and compare that to the property you're expected to live in. Spent several years in a two bedroom flat in a low rise. We were the only family working and paying rent from my own pocket. Others got brand new kitchens and bathrooms during that time and we had to put up with units and fittings from the 1990s.

They failed to fix a leak for 18 months, botching it and sending gas engineers instead of a plumber. This resulted in us needing a new bathroom floor which took several more months to get done, was botched and had to be redone. During this time they left us with no toilet and I had to call them and demand they come out late in the evening, otherwise we would have had nothing until the next day.

During covid and furlough, despite reassuring me they would be flexible about the rent payments, which I had always paid by direct debit, after about only 3 weeks, one of the rudest and incompetent people I have ever dealt with called demanding the rent.

When you call to report a repair, you're on hold in a queue of 20 or so people - call to pay your rent? You're straight through and they have dedicated people, even working from home, for this. So yes very geared up to take your money, but severely lacking when it comes to their service to you.

The last straw for us was the scumbag neighbours who WHG utterly failed to deal with. We had to deal with noise nuisance including having to listen to people having drink / drug fuelled rows, physical fights and having sex loudly in the early hours. On a few occasions police were called out.

Poor organisation and maintenance of communal bins by WHG is another problem. Residents throwing large boxes in, that weren't collapsed, nappies and food waste unbagged, rubbish spilling into the ground, meaning a vile smell and flies coming in our windows. In the summer we had a strong smell from the bins in the flat. On many occasions I had to sort this myself and call WHG to get the surplus removed, or the bin men would refuse to collect. This attracted vermin and rats got into our flat by way of the channel where the soil stack runs and loose pieces of plaster that fell out, further dug out by the rats. WHG eventually sent someone out, who had a look around outside and then vanished. I had to set traps and patch the holes up myself, at my own expense. You get to the stage where it's either a case of just trying to do it yourself or waiting on the phone for half an hour in a queue, during my work hours.

WHG made no attempts whatsoever to deal with any of this anti-social behaviour or poor and insanitary living conditions. I really feel for any other decent people who have to put up with this - but unfortunately WHG's tenants are overwhelmingly made up of unemployed benefit scroungers and are generally treated as such.

The only thing I will say: For the most part, we had few issues with the home maintenance people who were sent out. Most were just trying to do their jobs, in often difficult circumstances and were often also affected by stupid admin errors, carelessness and incompetence from that side. I got the impression on a number of occasions that they were just as disappointed and disillusioned with WHG as we were.

Good riddance. I wouldn't reccomend to my worst enemy.

Buying a shared ownership home was the worst mistake of my life. I spent years paying the rent which was almost as much as the mortgage. Then when I tried to sell I was told I had to pay their solicitors, had to pay them 1% of my house sale, also pay them fees for leaving, pay for a RICS valuation as they won’t take what an estate agent values it at, I can’t sell it for more than the RICS, even if an estate agent believes it’s more because of area and market at the moment. I had so many hurdles. Took me 18 months to sell and almost had a mental breakdown as financially it was crippling me towards the end. It finally sold and o made pretty much nothing. If I had rented for as long as I owned the house I’d have been able to save at the same time. DO NOT BUY SHARED OWNERSHIP. It’s deceiving.

I've never come across a company that tells so many lies to their tenants!
I ask them to do one job on a yearly basis which is to remove leaves from a garage I rent and they can't even get that done! 4 years ago there was a leak that damaged a lot of things in the garage, and also caused a classic motorcycle to develop rust due to the leak which covered more than 2 thirds of the floor, I was in at them for 18 months to get the leak fixed and nothing got done, eventually I had to contact my MP for her to intervene and surprisingly within 6 weeks the repair was done. In the first week of October this year I put a request in to get the leaves removed to allow the water to drain ( the roof has developed a bowing inside ) and I was told it would be done November 2nd, the day came it wasn't done, I complained and I was given an excuse as to why it wasn't done and a new date for December 6th ( today ) and guess what it's not been done!
A senior member of whg guaranteed me in November that this job would be done on this date but again all whg do is LIE LIE LIE ,I'm sick of the lies and false guarantees given by whg and it's about time they pulled their finger out and got the job done as it's a once a year thing!
Whg, totally useless, new complaint going in today to see what lies they come out with as to why the job wasn't done again!

I agree with every review only want the money, they use cowboys to do repairs, the ceiling bulb in my bathroom had blown they sent an electrician out he fitted a new ceiling light but the fan wasn’t working they send the same dickhead who fitted the light and because I was decorating in the bathroom he said it was my fault the fan didn’t work I paid £280 for trade electrician to fix the fan, I’ve had leaks, and paid trades people to fix amongs other things WHG are the worst, they should be in number 1 in the worst landlord’s

You get charged more for a 2 bed 2nd floor flat!!! When their houses rent is cheaper!! They don't want to let anyone who wants a house and is already on their system to get the houses but gives them to someone else!! I got a daughter who has additional needs and needs a garden to run around to have an outlet for her energy as she can't do it in a top floor flat!! I've changed my circumstances and told them my daughter has a disability but they don't care and they want their money! You need to house current customers first who need a house and give new people the flats!! The flooring is cracked underneath my carpets the walls foundation is cracked in my room!
