This happened today: absolutely shocked

Bought a bed frame from them a few weeks ago -just wanted a bigger bed frame
Had good service
But they did not put a sold sign on
So they sold it to someone else - did not contact us to inform us of this

My mum waited at my house from 9am three weeks later (today) on the date we chose for delivery with them (and filled in a form for!!)

We called them to ask for an update “sorry we can’t contact the driver”
Then she gets a call at 2pm “sorry we don’t have the bed”
My mum gets them to come collect the old bed frame
The two gentlemen are abrupt and rude to my mum, they say the bed is ‘broken’ and can’t take it
But leave it on the front lawn
My 73 year old mum can’t of course, get this bed back inside
So it remains outside for 2 hours

Thankfully I had the receipt
After work went down
Barely an apology, found the staff rude and ignorant.
They sold the bed frame to someone else - we were the ones being given a bad service - absolutely shocking from a charity

Would honestly tell everyone to go to the furniture store down the road from them
Their staff are more polite and on it.

Thankfully got a refund with no smile or genuine apology

Never had such service, and now I’ve had to clean my bed, move it back inside the house and put my apparent ‘ broken ‘ bed back together

Which is fine by me otherwise due to their ignorance I’d be without a bed

Tip for staff
Write stuff down
Keep a record
And communicate with staff and customers please.

Because of a tiny stain on a seat cushion they refused to take a perfectly decent two seater cord sofa. In their shops I have seen things in a much worse state but they sell them.
Never again will I support Willen which breaks my heart as my mum died there.

Good selection of stuff, they now do small electrical items now. I collect old records and was trawling through the selection kneeling on the floor. A lady who I thinks the manager very kindly let me use a small stool. They do on occasions get the prices wrong, I remember an Ikea Malm chest of drawers being priced at only a pound or two under the Ikea price. On the whole though I love this store and its friendly staff.

Rang to donate a piece of furniture, they took all of my details and said they would call me back. I'm still waiting for that call back and it's been over a week. So I have given it to Age UK instead as their team is a lot more responsive and arranged collection on the same day.

Prices appear to have gone up. Understandable I guess after Covid 19 lockdown, as much funding to make up. But means Age Concern up the road and the 6+ Barnados shops in MK are better value for money. Sorry.

Went to drop off donations. I was told to go drive to the back of the warehouse where I would be met. On arrival all 3 doors were locked. After waiting a while in the rain. Nobody arrived. Rang the bell still no response. Left the bags by the unopened door.

The items in this store have gone up considerably and you can get a lot cheaper else where. Alot of the items have been there for quite a long time as they are asking too much money. I realise it is a charity but nevertheless you might as well go somewhere else to get a decent price. They don't seem to be shifting alot of the items because of the high prices. Not going to bother going there anymore.

Huge shout out to Richard who was friendly, helpful and full of enthusiasm even though we popped in very close to closing time. Lovely selection and we found just what we were looking for. Thank you.
