This is a small hostel at the end of a little village with a pub and a playground and a 15min walk by road to Lulworth Cove. (The coastal path takes you up the hill for a lovely view but you can't get to the beach that way anymore as the path has eroded) ||There are only 7 rooms so it is small and friendly and mostly families with some couples when we were here. Everyone pitches in and it was a very nice atmosphere. The morning staff couldn't be any more helpful. (And thank you for offering to wash our dishes!) Monkey world is 15mins away by car. Swanage Railway is about 35mins and definitely worth a trip up to Corfe. The kitchen is very equipped. ||A few niggly bits....the photos and description show storage cupboards in the bedrooms but there aren't any so we had to use the 5th bed to lay out our ththings. There aren't any reading lights either so once the kids are in the bed you are torch light only. The soap dispensers in the toilets and bathrooms at the sinks are far too high for any child to reach. And just a tip to the social drinkers....you can only drink alcohol bought on premises!! ||Certainly would consider coming back though. Thank you for a lovely stay

Clean, bright little hostel with super-friendly and helpful staff. The communal areas are comfortable. Self-catering kitchen well laid out with good stock of equipment. The whole place was really spic-and-span tidy and clean, with some funky decor in the corridors. Drying room proper effective. Thoroughly recommended.

Great setting for exploring the coast, the swim spots we were after were easily accessible. The social space was great for planning, eating and relaxing after our days out. Well equipped kitchen allowed for meal preparation and the cooked breakfast we came back to after a sunrise dip was pretty good.

We hired the entire Youth Hostel for a family celebration weekend, 15 of us, our ages from 1 -72. The hostel was clean and well equipped, warm with comfortable beds - everything we needed for a family weekend. The location was great too, an easy walk (not quite vertical!) to the cove and fossil forest

Our running group stayed here for a weekend and the hostel was very clean, comfortable and in a great location.

Very quiet area and easy access to routes and pubs locally.

Beds very comfortable and nice decor too.

Would definitely stay here again.

The staff is raising the otherwise average level youth hostel accommodation. They were very helpful already with the booking as the system wouldn't let us even check for the date of our stay, when there was still spots available. Also in the morning at breakfast they were all the time very friendly and gave the feeling of warm welcome.

6 of us shared a private room. None of my friends had used a YHA before and were impressed enough that a couple of them are joining. Clean and comfy. Room was rather tight but perfectly fine as a sleeping spot when out all day. Note that if cooking for yourself, no oil provided - would be fab if the YHA would consider providing as people arriving on foot/public transport or through hikers won't have any.
