The YMCA set up a Youth Club for me and my friends who had recently left Year 11 at the time. The Youth Club’s original purpose was to reduce stress from the transition to college or Sixth Form, but it quickly became a great connection between 2 very different friend groups that originally had trouble getting along. The employees that ran the Youth Club, Katie and Julie, also became our friends while we were there. The inside of the YMCA is very clean. The assortment of sofas and chairs in the foyer is very homey, and the small room the Youth Club took place in was comforting with how classroom-like it felt. We all felt at home in the YMCA very quick, we felt safe and calm whenever we were in there. During the Youth Club, we would spend about 1 hour doing a simple activity to keep us occupied, then we would make our way to ASDA where the employees would pay for us to have a small lunch with them. We would then spend another hour or two in the sports hall, which is filled with a vast selection of sports equipment. After many weeks of the Youth Club, we had two trips funded by the YMCA, the first to Kilve and the second to Bristol, which gave us even more memories to take away. The Youth Club has been restarted once and will hopefully be restarted once more soon. The Youth Club and the YMCA staff have done wonders for us, and have brought us so much happiness, the world deserves to know.

Fantastic venue for indoor sport. Cafe was closed, being a Sunday, but the ground floor facilities looked excellent.

I had a tea and sandwich at the Purple Spoon.
It's a cafe run by the charity. It's ok.
