Don’t volunteer!

I volunteered there as a gym attendant every Saturday from 09:00 - 13:30 September 2019 to January 2023. I asked the manger, multiple times if there would be any shifts available but was always told there were none available. When My work colleague was leaving I even emailed the manger to enquire if there was any shifts which came to no avail. I was later informed that they were understaffed.

I have ADHD,ASD and dyspraxia.What really annoys the YMCA preaches diversity and equality yet they to the contrary they do not practice what they preach. I was mistreat there. They used me for free labour.

Been using the gym there for over 23 years, not to flashy, but has everything you need, without any of the unnecessary stuff

Has up to date well equipped Gym, a cafeteria with wonderful products to eat and drink on offer. There are several floors of offices and conference rooms which are used for a variety of activities and very clean modern toilets. The whole place is very clean and of course all the staff are friendly and helpful and knowledgeable.

Dropped in after a long hike for a well deserved lunch. The cafe is a nice environment, staff are friendly and the food is top notch. Also very well priced. Absolutely faultless. I'm glad we dropped in.

Went to the Gym for a preview session. Pleasantly surprised. Friends and relatives had told me that it was sparse for equipment and want very good. However, I decided to make my own mind up and gave it a try.

The equipment there is all modern, they have a good range of equipment in the gym, steppers, treadmills, ellipticals, rowing machines, cycles, as well as the fitness weight type machines that you would expect to see in a gym.

Going to say that there might not be as many machines there as some of the larger chain gyms but, there's also far fewer people in the gym. Staff are all professional and friendly as well.

Highly recommended, even if I am in pain after the first couple of days that I've done in the last 4 years!! 😂

Recently refurbished, impressive modern environment including gym, nursery and many other amenities. Nearest free parking is on Norfolk Street. Home of VODA and other charitable concerns. Have some excellent events and open days.

Mainly based around a brand new gym complex. Fairly well equipped gym and weights room with classes in other parts of the building. New cafe in construction. Accommodation for homeless young people in a separate part of the site. Lacks a swimming pool.
The staff are knowledgable, but reluctant to correct users who are using machines incorrectly, although that probably says more about the users than about the staff.
Parking is limited and paid by the minute. Competitively priced.
