The Yorkshire Coast offers some of the most stunning coastal views in the UK, with a perfect blend of picturesque beaches, dramatic cliffs, and quaint seaside towns. From the bustling resort of Scarborough to the quieter, scenic spots like Robin Hood’s Bay and Whitby, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

The area is rich in history, with landmarks like Whitby Abbey and Scarborough Castle adding an extra layer of charm. The coastline is ideal for walking, cycling, and exploring nature, with beautiful trails that offer panoramic views of the sea.

Local seafood is a highlight, with many towns offering fresh fish and chips right by the sea. Whether you’re visiting for a relaxing weekend, a family holiday, or an adventurous walk along the cliffs, the Yorkshire Coast never disappoints.

Lots of roadside parking, very clean toilets and stunning views.
The walk down to the beach is brutal and lots of seals basking when the tides out.
The coastal path is very well sign posted and easy to walk and dog friendly unlike the beach.

Me and my son saw the seals at Ravenscar Beach.
It's worth the visit a bit of a track. At times, to get there, you have to go down the cliff path to.
When you do get there in the end, you see all the seals laying on the beach, at all times we kept our distance, not scare them.
We most have seen at least 100 seals laying in the sun waiting for tide to come back in.

Visited Whitby for the first time, enjoyed the visit very much, used the park and ride which was excellent, pleased we did as there is very little parking and busy streets.

One of my favourite places in the UK and a walk I love coming back to. A lovely 13 mile walk up and over the Moor then back to Robin Hoods Bay, head along the beach to the wonderfully named Boggle Hole then up to the old railway line for the return. Various food and drink available on the way, ideal for dogs who enjoy a good walk.
