Totally let down by Hugh who talked a good game but did not step up when it mattered. He agreed to support me attending court, however he failed to contact me within the agreed 4 week timescale. As a result i was left to attend court on my own without assistance from advocacy first... should change their name to advocacy last.

Getting an appointment is a pain in the 1st place, leaving a voicemail goes into a black hole and 1 of their members of staff can't remember the calls that they make, will argue about it when questioned and is just generally unpleasant.

Complete waste of time, contacted to minimize stress but was just an increase.

I have never experienced an advocate that fails to speak to not only to the service user but never speaks up on their behalf when they are clearly not being listened too, heard or views noted. In addition an advocate who walks away without doing anything for a service user who went into hospital for a week and is still there 15 months later. Allowing the service user to be put at risk of physical harm due to the erection of physical barriers in accessing their home. This is certainly no professional advocacy service nor is it independent, seems like paid lip service on behalf of local authority, no wonder it only covers Renfrewshire

YOU FIRST(ADVOCACY) USED TO BE A VERY HELPFUL AGENCY UNTIL THE LADY WHO HELPED ME WITH ALMOST EVERYTHING AS MY HEALTH IS BAD AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND MAIL AND MESSAGES THAT NEED TO BE ACTED ASAP AND AT ONE TIME COULDN'T DO ENOUGH TO HELP ME AND SINCE THE PERSON IM SPEAKING ABOUT WHO WAS MANAGER HAD TO RETIRE DUE TO HEALTH PURPOSES AND FROM THEN IVE NEVER RECIEVED A PHONE CALL OR LETTERS TO MONITOR MY HEALTH AS ADVOCACY ARE WELL AWARE OF MY NEEDS AND THE SERIOUSNESS OF MYSELF HAVING TO LIVE ON BORROWED TIME AND MY SURGEON MY GP AND LADY FROM ADVOCACY HAD A EXCELLENT UNDERSTANDING AND ALL 3 WHO AGGREED TO HELP OUT WITH CERTAIN ISSUES THAT I CANT WRITE HEAR.NOW I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THE ADVOCACY (YOU FIRST) TO ANYONE AS ITS PLAIN THAT MY TREATMENT AND AGGREEMENT HAS BEEN TOTALLY MESSED UP AND I WAS REASURED I WOULD HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT AS MY NEEDS HAVE BEEN PASSED ON AND PERSON WHO APPARENTLY SAID SHE WOULD TAKE CARE OF ME AS I WAS PREVIOUSLY TREATED

Cracking place to go for needs. But only if taken on board by recipients. Lovely and helpful staff.

Go up
