Grantham's hidden gem. A lovely cafe in some very pretty grounds that goes right down to the river. I grew up in Grantham and this house wasn't open to the public,.so it's really nice to see what's on the other side of the wall. A lovely surprise.

Essentially this is a National Trust cafe, but in a beautiful house with stunning grounds. I'm quite envious of people that live in Grantham and can wander in and enjoy some peace sitting in such a lovely setting.

So pleased we visited after years of walking past on Castlegate not knowing what was behind the wall. The grounds here are a lot bigger than I had imagined and it was lovely walking around them with my dog, after doing that I enjoyed a ham and cheese toastie and latte from the small cafe which was very nice indeed. Sitting outside it was such a peaceful place to relax with the church spire towering above, very much worth a visit. The staff were very friendly and helpful, parking is very limited just outside the gates on Castlegate but if you have mobility issues you can phone up and book a parking place in the small house carpark a day or so before you visit. I would have liked to see a donation box as it is free to visit and places like this need our support.

Lovely overlooked gem in Grantham town. Unfortunately, it was very wet on the day we visited, so we can't comment on the outdoor spaces or gardens.
However , the cafe was spacious with plenty of seating. We had a toastie and drinks which were good and reasonably priced.
A plus for us was the fact that you are able to advance book parking on site if you are less abled.
We plan to go back when the weather is better.

The best way to describe this is a house with a huge and beautiful garden and as long as that is all you are expecting, you will be happy. We managed to stay for about an hour and a half but that was really pushing it with my nearly 2 year old and I think my 4 year old would have been bored very quickly so we will definitely stick to Belton House . It was lovely to sit out enjoying the sunshine and have a delicious coffee, my daughter loved the friendly cat and the gardens were fantastic so if I was meeting a friend for coffee it would be perfect.
Be warned though, there only seemed to be one toilet and we couldn't find the baby change.

Visited when the VE Celebrations were taking place, had a lovely visit. It is a bit difficult to find and doesn't have parking except a bit for disabled parking. Delicious Victoria sponge.

A hidden gem in the centre of Grantham. It is free, the food is marvelous. Additionally, dogs are welcome - how splendid!
